Lowdham Flooding |
It seems strange to think that only a few months ago that Lowdham village was besieged by five devastating floods in the short space of three weeks. In fact our heart goes out to all the families that are still displaced by the floods. It shouldn't happen any time of year never mind in high summer.
As far as sports goes, Lowdham Cricket Club was one of the worst hit in the entire country. The ground including pavilion, square, lock up and out field found themselves under 4 - 5ft of water for long periods of time. As you can imagine this had a devastating effect on the pitch and equipment.
But thanks to a grant from the ECB and some hard work put in by the members of Lowdham Cricket Club, the cricket square and outfield is returning to some normality. Hopefully everything will be set up for 2008 season.

Ground Work Complete |
Lowdham Cricket Club cricket ground is back on track after restoration work carried out over September and October. The square has been re-worked and a drainage problem has be addressed at the by-pass end. A big thank you goes to the ECB who helped us out in our time of need. Also Lowdham Cricket Club would like to thank the following for their hard work; John Bentley, Andy Seager, Mike Pollard, Damien Greaves, Andy Norris, Gary Evans and Ian Griffiths. LCC would also like to thank Car Coulston CC, East Leake CC and East Bridgeford CC for accommodating us at the end of last season, your help was much appreciated.

Lowdham Cricket Club AGM |
Lowdham Cricket Club Annual General Meeting will be held on the 27th of November. It would be good to get a decent turn out as there are so issues that need to be addressed. Promotion Again |
Congratulation to the Second XI skipper (Ray) and anyone who contributed to another promotion. This means that Lowdham Second XI have been promoted three year in a row, and will now be playing in Division M. Well done lads. |

On Saturday the 16th of February Lowdham Cricket Club needs you help in spiking a damp area of the cricket ground. All you need to bring is a garden fork. The more of you the turn up the quicker the job will get done.
Helping out will ensure that we save much needed money. This money can then be invested in youth development. |

Lowdham will begin their winter nets on Wednesday 9th January at Nottingham High School 8pm prompt
